Wrinkles
& Lines Treatment with (B-TOX)

Wrinkles form over time by repetitive movements of the muscles on the face. You will notice wrinkles are visible on areas of the face which move most with natural expression, often around the eyes and forehead. Anti-wrinkle injections are carefully administered to the muscles causing unwanted creases in the skin.
Anti-wrinkle injections are made with a purified protein that disrupts signals between the nerves and the muscles, causing the muscles to relax and atrophy to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Regular anti-wrinkle injections help to manage and slow down the development of further wrinkles.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections can be used to treat all wrinkles which are the result of normal facial movement. When it is injected into a specific muscle in the face, it blocks the signal from the nerve to the muscle. This means that the nerve ending cannot tell the muscle to move, hence there will be less wrinkling of the skin in the areas treated. You will have a smooth appearance than before. So, in simple terms, Anti-Wrinkle Injections help to relax the muscles being treated.
When you initially make the appointment, we will send you some instructions on how to prepare for the appointment. For example, we will ask you to avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours prior to the procedure.
Once at the Clinic, first you will be greeted and handed over the registration and medical form.
Then the clinician will go through the form with you and check your suitability for the procedure.
You can then discuss what your concerns are and what you want to achieve and ask any questions you have.
He will then assess your face, take some photos before the procedure for insurance purposes.
You will be looked after by his assistants, who will make sure any make-up is removed and the area is cleansed.
Then the practitioner will mark the areas in your face and then the assistant will apply some ice before the procedure to minimise bruising and pain.
Then you will have the Anti-Wrinkle Injection. Ice will be applied during the procedure too and you will be kept comfortable throughout.
Once it’s over, we will apply some arnica gel to further minimise any bruising. You will be given Aftercare advice and make sure you understand everything.
No! It will just feel like some tiny pinches and it will be over before you know it. When correctly injected, it should not be painful. Generally there is very little discomfort and no anaesthesia is needed. However if a client is particularly anxious or has increased sensitivity we do offer anaesthetic cream. We also use extremely tiny needles.
The procedure itself only takes around 20 minutes. But your appointment is for half an hour so you can have the consultation and discuss needs and prepare for the appointment fully and the procedure will never be rushed.
There is no recovery time for Botox but there are few things you need to do to look after yourself a few hours after. We will provide you with the Aftercare information and explain everything you need to do.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections are relatively safe but there are minor side effects like headaches, pain, swelling and bruising at the injection site for some people. Most of these should only last a few hours or a few days. Most people have no side effects at all. To minimise bruising, we advise clients to avoid alcohol and certain vitamins and drugs and also apply ice to the injected areas.
Patients sometimes have a feeling of stiffness or numbness in the area injected, however, this sensation is transient and disappears within a few days. Slight bruising and swelling can be a side-effect but with good technique this is greatly reduced. Occasionally a temporary drooping of the eyelid can occur. This may last a few weeks, but will always resolve. Special eye drops can be prescribed during this time to help lift the lid back into its normal position. In extremely rare cases patients have developed an allergy to the treatment, while others have shown resistance, for instance it causes little or no effect on the treated muscles.
The results will last for 3-4 months usually but depend on your life style and metabolic factors. For some people it may last longer.
